New signs have been put up along footpaths in Jersey to remind dog owners to keep their pets under control.

The Government of Jersey's Infrastructure and Environment (I&E) Department said the signs had been installed along footpaths owned by private landowners who had agreed to allow the public to use them.

I&E said the signs encouraged dog owners to keep dogs on leads when crossing land used by livestock or the landowner's pets.

"Our teams in natural environment would like to thank those who are already following the signs which ensures everyone can continue to access the footpaths on the network," an I&E spokesperson added.
