The Manxman's services have been disrupted due to spring tides in Douglas

The overnight ferry between the Isle of Man and Lancashire has been delayed by more than two hours due to low tides.

The Isle of Man Steam Packet Company said the Manxman's berthing in Douglas Harbour had been delayed until 10:00 GMT "due to insufficient water depth".

The schedule for the vessel has faced significant disruption in recent days due to very low spring tides coupled with silting in the harbour.

The flagship ferry's morning journey to Heysham has been delayed until 12:00.

The government-owned ferry firm previously cancelled its usual afternoon and evening services between the two ports due to the tidal conditions.

It follows the temporary grounding of the vessel after its arrival in Douglas on Saturday evening, which the firm said was due to "lower than predicted" water levels caused by high atmospheric pressure.
