A man has been charged with murder following an assault at a hotel.

A 39-year-old from Swansea's Maritime Quarter will appear in court in connection with the death of Kelvin Evans, from Gorseinon, Swansea.

The family of Mr Evans, 64, said they were "devastated" to lose him after he was attacked at The Station Hotel, Gorseinon, on Sunday, 26 May.

They said: “We are trying to come to terms with this whole situation and ask that we are given time to grieve.”

Det Insp David Butt of South Wales Police said Mr Evans's family were aware of the charge and were being supported.
