Woman arrested after man in 70s hit by car
BBCA woman has been arrested after a man was hit by a car in Paignton suffering serious injuries.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the collision between a green Citroen C1 saloon and the pedestrian happened on Great Western Road at about 15:55 BST on Monday.
The local man in his 70s was taken to Torbay District Hospital for treatment.
Officers said a 23-year-old woman from Paignton was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by careless driving, while over the specified limit of a controlled drug.
The force said the woman was released under investigation, pending further enquiries.
It has appealed for witnesses or anyone with information on the incident.
