A 29-year-old man died at the scene of a collision on Thursday afternoon

Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Newport.

Gwent Police were called to the crash involving a Mini Cooper car and a motorcycle on Firbank Avenue at about 15:50 BST on Thursday.

The force said a 29-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are now asking for anyone with information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact them and would like to speak with the driver of a red Volkswagen transporter van who was travelling behind the vehicles.
