Spooky display to raise money in memory of friend

A family are raising money for charity with a spooky Halloween display after the death of a close friend.

Kerry Morgan and her partner Anthony Jackson, from Craven Arms, Shropshire, said John " Woody" Woodfield "was the kindest of men with the biggest of hearts".

They said they hoped the money they raised for Bowel Cancer UK might "help eradicate or help with this horrible disease".

Mr Jackson said they have created displays for a number of years but decided they should make all the hard work go towards a good cause.

He started doing it to entertain the children and for the "big kid" in him but said people kept asking: "Where's the collection box?"

Last year the family collected for a dementia charity and this year they wanted to raise money in memory of their friend, who died from bowel cancer.

The display includes lights, water displays, a smoke machine and models of skeletons, spiders and other spooky creatures.

Mr Jackson said he had received "nothing but positivity" from neighbours and was thinking about a Ghostbusters-theme for next Halloween.
