Man charged over teen's death in New Year crash

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a teenager died in a three-car crash on New Year's Day.

The 18-year-old, from Cornwall, was a passenger in a black Toyota Aygo involved in the crash on the A35, near Kingston Russell, Dorset.

The crash, which happened shortly after 13:30 GMT on 1 January, also involved a silver Kia Sorento and a black BMW.

Joshua Craven, from Bridport, has also been charged with causing death by driving without due care and attention while over the specified limit for a controlled drug.

Dorset Police said the 22-year-old had been issued with a postal requisition to appear at Weymouth Magistrates' Court on 13 November.

Three other people were taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were not life-threatening following the crash.
