Scouting for Girls have been announced as a headline act for next year's Rasen Rocks festival.

The She's So Lovely and This Ain't a Love Song stars will perform at the event being staged at the racecourse in Market Rasen on 13 June 2025.

The gig will be preceded by an evening of racing, organisers said.

Tickets will be sold through The Jockey Club Live and go on general release at 10:00 BST on 11 October. Pre-sale tickets will be available on 9 October to customers on the mailing list.

Jack Pryor, the racecourse's general manager, said the event offered customers an evening of racing combined with a fantastic entertainment experience.

“Scouting For Girls is the ideal headline act to begin our summer season next year," he added.

Scouting for Girls have sold more than two million albums, two million singles, had four Brit Award nominations, an Ivor Novello nomination and achieved four top ten singles.

The band previously sold out gigs at the Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Arena.

“We’re delighted to be headlining Market Rasen Racecourse - our first summer show announced for 2025," the band said.

Frontman Roy Stride said: "It’s like a double day out – you’ve got the racing beforehand, and you can get lunch or a picnic [before the show].

Stride said the band was currently on tour promoting their new album, but added that next year was going to be “fairly quiet for us”.

“So, this is the big one for us in this area,” he added.

As part of the current tour, the band is due to play two dates in the county in November at the Engine Shed in Lincoln and The Gliderdrome in Boston.

“The Engine Shed sold out months ago, and there are only about 50 tickets left for The Gliderdrome – which I love,” Stride told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

“We did that a couple of years ago and I ended up playing bingo for ages,” he said.

He said although it was the first time at the racecourse, the band always received a warm welcome from fans in the county.

“I don’t know what it is, but we just go down so well. We always get a good crowd," he added.
