US pop star Chappell Roan has been announced as the latest musical act for this year's Edinburgh Summer Sessions.

The singer is set to appear at the Royal Highland Showgrounds on 26 August.

The 27-year-old won best newcomer at the Grammys last year, following the success of hits such as Good Luck, Babe!, HOT-TO-GO! and Pink Pony Club.

Promoters Gigs in Scotland have told fans they can expect "bold pop hooks, sex positivity, honest song writing, and a heavy dose of glitter".

Tickets for the event go on sale at 09:00 on Friday this week, with presale access available on Thursday.

Other acts announced for Summer Sessions shows in Edinburgh include Sam Fender.

Glasgow's Summer Sessions at Bellahouston Park include Sting, Simple Minds, Sex Pistols and the Stereophonics.
