Oxford United manager surprises kids at old school

Manager Des Buckingham said it had been a "rollercoaster of emotions"

Oxford United manager Des Buckingham has capped off celebrations of the club's League One play-off final victory by returning to his former primary school.

He grew up in the city and attended Our Lady’s Catholic Primary School in Cowley.

Buckingham thanked the school for its support after footage of pupils singing U's terrace chants in assembly were shared widely on social media ahead of the final.

It included the iconic "que sera sera" chant - the song fans up and down the country belt out when their side reaches Wembley.

BBC Radio Oxford showed the video to Buckingham days before the game, leading to an emotional reaction from the manager.

He said the days following the club's promotion to the Championship had been a "rollercoaster of emotions for very, very good and special reasons".
