A man has been arrested in connection with a suspected arson attack in Plymouth.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it was called by the fire service to an incident outside a property in Mutley Plain Lane at 04:30 BST.

A small number of people were evacuated while the property was made safe and a cordon remains in place while enquiries continue, the force said.

It said a 40-year-old man from Plymouth had been arrested on suspicion of arson and remained in police custody.
