An overturned lorry has closed a motorway junction in Oxfordshire.

The articulated lorry tipped on to its side on the A43, near the southbound exit slip from the M40 at junction 10 at Ardley on Tuesday night.

Thames Valley Police says the road is closed from the services towards Baynards Green roundabout on the Northampton-bound carriageway.

Highways England said the road was expected to remain closed into the afternoon.

It added the carriageway needed to be resurfaced because the lorry had shed a large amount of fuel.

Police are yet to confirm if the driver suffered any injuries.

Motorists are being urged to allow extra travelling time, re-route or delay their journey.
