Police were called to Warnford Grove on Monday morning

A man has been charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed at a house in Bradford.

Police said officers were called to Warnford Grove, Holme Wood, in the early hours of Monday and found a 23-year-old woman with serious injuries.

She was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

Hasnain Shafiq, 22 of Warnford Grove, has been charged with attempted murder and has appeared at Bradford Magistrates' Court.

He was also charged with threatening a person with an offensive weapon on the same date and engaging in coercive and controlling behaviour between 1 November, 2022 and 28 January, 2025.

He also faces a separate charge of robbery at a different address in Emerson Avenue, Bradford, on 11 October, 2024.

Mohammed Riaz, defending, said all matters were denied.

Chairman of the bench Peter Creegan remanded Mr Shafiq in custody.

He was ordered to appear at Bradford Crown Court on 26 February.
