Rail delays easing after person hit by train

Train services which were disrupted after a person was hit by a train are returning to normal.
East Midlands Railway (EMR) said journeys had been cancelled, disrupted or revised following the incident near Wellingborough Station in Northamptonshire earlier on.
The company added that some of its Intercity services were still being delayed by up to 30 minutes.
British Transport Police said the death was not being treated as suspicious.
On its website and a post on X, EMR said: "We are sad to report that a person has been hit by a train.
"This has occurred between Bedford and Kettering and is disrupting our trains on the Intercity and Connect routes."
EMR added that all four lines on the route were open again but some intercity trains were delayed for up to 30 minutes.
The company was expecting to resume its normal timetable by 16:30 GMT.
A spokesperson for British Transport Police said: "Officers were called to a report of a casualty on the tracks just before 09:50 GMT near Wellingborough Railway Station.
"Officers and paramedics attended and sadly a person was pronounced deceased. The incident is not thought to be suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
