Leisure pool reopening delayed by four days
The reopening of a swimming pool undergoing refurbishments in Surrey has been delayed due to "additional unforeseen works", its operator has said.
The pool at the Guildford Spectrum had been closed since 25 November and was set to be reopened on Monday.
The refurbishment work has included the installation of a new interactive water feature with multiple slides and water jets.
Freedom Leisure said the extra work "became apparent once scaffolding had been erected" and the pool would now reopen on Friday.
A spokesperson said: "We made the decision to complete these additional works during the current closure, avoiding the need for a future closure, which would have caused further disruption to our customers and increased costs.
"We understand that any delay can be inconvenient, and we appreciate the patience and understanding of our visitors."
