Crash shuts major road on edge of city

A major A-road has been closed following an accident.

National Highways said a 12-mile (19.3km) stretch of the A47, between Acle and Trowse, has been shut in both directions.

"Emergency services are working at the scene with contractors en route to assist with strategic closures," a post on X read.

Norfolk Police has been approached for comment.
