Four people have been taken to hospital following a multi-vehicle crash on the M2 on Friday afternoon, according to the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI).

The road had been closed citybound between the Fortwilliam and Duncrue Street junctions.

The motorway has reopened, but police are warning of possible traffic congestion.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said it had responded to a report of a five-vehicle crash at about 13:30 GMT.

It said firefighters removed four people from a vehicle using specialist equipment.
