Woman to stand trial accused of killing Asda worker

A 37-year-old woman will stand trial next year accused of killing a security guard at an Asda superstore in Arbroath.
Natasha Smith allegedly assaulted 61-year-old Alun Harris-Richards at the shop in Westway Retail Park last June.
Prosecutors allege Ms Smith repeatedly pushed Mr Harris-Richards on the body, causing him to strike a display stand and fall to the ground, hitting his head.
Ms Smith denied a charge of culpable homicide during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow.
It is alleged Ms Smith behaved in an aggressive and threatening manner to Mr Harris-Richards.
It is also claimed she shouted, swore and uttered threats of violence towards him.
Ms Smith is also said to have struggled with him and repeatedly attempted to pull a bag from him before the alleged assault.
She also denied assault charges against two other staff members, as well as an alleged theft of alcohol at the same time and place.
The trial was set for January next year before Judge Lord Armstrong.
It is expected to last seven days at the High Court in Edinburgh.
