New operators to run town's Christmas attraction
New operators are to organise Bournemouth's town centre Christmas attraction for the next five years.
BCP Council said SKATE Bournemouth and Seventa Events, who previously ran the ice rink and market, proposed an "ambitious vision" for 2025.
Plans include a new interactive light trail, a Christmas tree maze and a bigger, more varied market.
Bournemouth Business Improvement District (BID) welcomed the announcement, saying it removed "any uncertainty about the future of this important event".
BCP Council said more than 5.5 million people visited Bournemouth over the 2024 festive period - up 12.5% on 2023.
Richard Herrett, BCPs councillor for destination, leisure, and commercial operations, said: "SKATE and Seventa have already helped us deliver unforgettable Christmas memories for millions of visitors over the last seven years and I am looking forward to seeing how they build on this success going forwards."
The newly-formed partnership will operate as the Bournemouth Christmas Company.
BID COO Paul Kinvig said: "We look forward to working with them to ensure the benefit to businesses is felt throughout the town centre."
