On The Waterfront 2025 guide: Sting, The Wombats

Sting will perform for the city on Sunday

Sting, The Wombats and The Wolfe Tones are among the star attraction of Liverpool's On The Waterfront festival this week.

The four-day open-air event runs until Sunday with tens of thousands of people expected to flock to the city's Pier Head for four days of live shows.

Headliners also include Cream and Classical Ibiza, Pale Waves and the Manchester group Corella.

The festival was founded in 2021 and last summer drew more than 45,000 people to the area.

What time does it start?

All the shows will be taking place at Pier Head, Liverpool.

  • Thursday - 17:00-23:00 (Last entry at 20:00)
  • Friday - 16:00-23:00 (Last entry at 19:00)
  • Saturday - 14:00-23:00 (Last entry at 17:00)
  • Sunday - 17:00-23:00 (Last entry at 19:30)

Who will be performing?

Thursday's line-up includes Liverpool indie rock band The Wombats, Pale Waves and Corella.

On Friday fans will get to see The Wolfe Tones perform their last UK show after they announced their retirement after 62 years together, The Scratch and The Highschool.

Saturday will be a DJ takeover by Cream Classical Ibiza, Kaleidoscope Orchestra and Sense of Sound and Groove Armada.

Sunday will include performances by Sting 3.0, The Christians, Sophie Grey and Traits.
