Lifting bridge reopened after car incident

A lifting bridge in Dorset has been reopened following an earlier closure to traffic.

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council posted on X that Poole Bridge at Poole Quay was damaged after a car hit it on Wednesday evening.

Police said the the crash happened at about 18:16 GMT.

The local authority said repair works had been carried out during the morning and the bridge has now reopened.
