A charity body in Jersey has been awarded national quality accreditation by a UK foundation.

Jersey Community Foundation, which links donors with causes in the island, was recognised by UK Community Foundations for its "commitment to robust governance, effective grant-making and financial transparency".

The accreditation is valid for three years is designed to assure people the charity operates to the highest standards of quality and professionalism.

The foundation said it joined a network of more than 47 accredited community foundations in the British Isles.

'Care and integrity'

Anna Terry, the foundation's chief executive, said: "We're incredibly proud to receive this accreditation.

"It reflects the hard work and dedication of our team and Board over the past five years to build a trusted, professional and impactful organisation.

"For our donors, it offers reassurance that their giving is being managed with care and integrity."
