Closure order issued to address in Plymouth

A property in Plymouth has been shut for three months after persistent antisocial behaviour (ASB) was reported to the police.
Devon and Cornwall Police said the address in Adelaide Street was the subject of reports from nearby residents who saw groups of people visiting at all hours.
Other reports detailed constant noise disturbances throughout the night and people under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
Officers said they worked alongside Plymouth Community Connections, Livewest Housing and residents to secure a closure order, which was served on 8 April.
'Worrying for locals'
Sgt Clare Moore, of Devon and Cornwall Police, said: "No resident should feel intimidated, worried or anxious about where they live, as a result of antisocial behaviour."
She added: "I can't imagine how worrying this must have been for local people living in the area, especially those with young families ... It was clear to see the toll this was taking on people's wellbeing and livelihoods."
Sgt Moore added it was never the force's first course of action and that officers always attempted to work alongside the tenant to deter offences.
Sgt Moore said attempts in this case were ultimately unsuccessful, which meant the next step to safeguard residents from further harm was to obtain the closure order to prevent anyone including the tenant from entering.
She said: "We couldn't let this behaviour continue.
"The aim of closure orders are to prevent antisocial behaviour and crime from taking place.
"Individuals who do not follow this order can face criminal prosecution."
The force said the tenant affected had been referred to partner agencies while the order was in place.
