A man has been sentenced for manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility.

Calvin Olawale Babatunde, 48, died from stab wounds in his home on Fen Street, Milton Keynes, at about 19:10 GMT on 25 January 2024.

Jay Lupton, 25, who was seen leaving the scene on CCTV and whose DNA was found on a knife inside the flat, had previously admitted the charge.

During sentencing at Luton Crown Court on Friday, he was made the subject of a hospital order.

Lupton, also of Fen Street, was initially charged with murder four days after Mr Babatunde was killed.

Police had said the two men were friends but their relationship had "deteriorated in the months leading to Calvin's death".

In a tribute, his family said: "Our brother was suddenly taken from us. None of us got the chance to say goodbye.

"We miss your magnetic energy, all our reflective conversations and your kindness.

"You were kind towards everyone, including the person that eventually took your life."

His cousin Olaolu Adewunmi added: "Calvin was my closest cousin. He was my best friend, my sounding board, confidant and a good listener.

"I was so touched by the number of people that signed a card outside his flat railings expressing how sad they were that Calvin was gone.

"I am told that he was loved by all that knew him. I feel that a light has gone out of [my] and my family's life."
