Road shut and lorry driver arrested after fatal crash

A lorry driver has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving following a fatal crash.

Norfolk Police said a car and a lorry collided on Buxton Road in Brampton, near Aylsham, earlier at 12:11 GMT.

The driver of the car died at the scene.

The lorry driver, a man in his 40s, was taken to Wymondham police station for questioning.

The passenger of the car was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life threatening.

Police said officers remained on scene and the road was expected to remain closed for several hours.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area.

Officers have urged witnesses or those with relevant dashcam footage to contact them.
