Panel member sought to scrutinise commissioner

Applications have opened for a member of the public to help to scrutinise West Mercia's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).
The Police and Crime Panel, covering the force area of Herefordshire, Shropshire and Worcestershire, aims to hold the PCC to account for their performance and decisions.
Those interested are being encouraged to apply for the "important and challenging" independent role by 16 May.
The work is estimated to cover one day a month, reviewing the commissioner's plans and budget.
Applicants must be a resident or someone who works within the West Mercia Police force area.
The panel said people with "experience in community safety, victim support, criminal justice and related issues" were encouraged to apply.
Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) John Campion was re-elected in May last year.
The force appointed a new chief constable last month after being without a permanent one since October 2023. Approving the appointment formed part of the panel's work.
