Man arrested after fire at housing for homeless
A man has been arrested following a fire which caused the evacuation of an apartment building for homeless people.
The incident happened on Friday night at a block of council "transitional housing" on Crawley Green Road, Luton.
Bedfordshire Police said the man was detained on suspicion of causing criminal damage by arson.
It added that the fire was believed to be the result of a "targeted attack" and officers have appealed for witnesses.
Police said the building was evacuated, but residents were only outside for a short time.
