Truro City Football Club will celebrate its National League South title win by lifting a trophy at the weekend.

Truro City won the title after beating St Albans City 5-2 at the Truro Community Stadium.

The victory means Truro become the first club from Cornwall to win promotion to the National League.

Sports commentator Gareth Davies said an open top bus would leave Truro City Stadium on Saturday ahead of an official trophy presentation.

'Surreal day'

Mr Davies said the trophy was not presented to the team following the victory on 26 April as there were six possible winners.

The open top bus will leave the Truro City Stadium at 13:30 BST and it will arrive outside Truro Cathedral shortly after, he said.

The trophy presentation will begin at 14:00 BST, he added.

The open top bus tour was due to begin after the presentation, but Mr Davies said a route had not yet been confirmed.

Mr Davies said it would be a "real celebration" of what had been a brilliant season for the club.

He it was a "privilege" to be a part of the win and described it as a "surreal day".

"I got pretty emotional at full time," he said.

"Once that trophy is lifted it will sink in a little bit further."
