Man dies after being hit by a bus in Newry

A pedestrian has died after being knocked down by a bus in Newry, County Down.

The incident happened at about 16:30 GMT at the Mall area of the city.

The man in his 30s died at the scene as a result of his injuries.

The Mall area was closed but it has since reopened.

Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
