Public reminded of dog restrictions on beaches
BBCDog owners have been reminded to check rules before taking their dogs to the beach.
Cornwall Council said from 15 May until 30 September dogs would not be allowed on certain beaches between certain times of the day.
It said was an offence to take your dog on a beach during the restricted times, which are 10:00-18:00 BST.
It added it was also an offence to allow your dog to foul and not clear up after it and a £100 fixed penalty notice could be issued for each offence.
Beaches where restrictions will be in place are:
- Carbis Bay
- Crackington Haven
- Crooklets
- Polzeath
- Porthmeor
- Porthminster
- Porthmissen/Trevone
- Porthtowan
- Sennen
- Widemouth
- Gyllyngvase Beach
Cornwall Council added at Summerleaze in Bude, dogs were permitted on the beach but must be kept on a lead between 10:00 and 18:00 from 21 May until 30 September.
In addition, there are three protected wildlife areas where dogs are banned all year round for all hours of the day.
These are:
- Carnsew Pool
- Copperhouse Pool
- Hayle Estuary
