A man has been taken to hospital after being seriously injured in a fall from a bridge on the A60 in Nottinghamshire.

Emergency services were called to the road in Arnold in the early hours of Tuesday, Nottinghamshire Police said.

The force said the man, who is aged in his 40s, was found unconscious shortly before 04:00 BST.

Officers closed off a stretch between Redhill roundabout and the Ram Inn on Mansfield Road, which has since reopened.

Det Insp Ian Smith said officers were looking to speak to any witnesses or any motorists in the area between 03:00 and 04:00 who may have dashcam footage they can share with police.

"Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of what happened," he said.

"We are keeping an open mind but at this time we are not treating the incident as suspicious."
