Residents in Hull's Bricknell ward could soon benefit from a neater, cleaner neighbourhood.

Windsor Road, Murrayfield Road, Southfield Road and Huntley Drive will all be visited by Hull City Council as part of its Love Your Neighbourhood project.

Teams will tackle weeds and overgrown hedges, carry out general maintenance, and clean streets and gullies over a two-week period that began on Monday and will run until 8 November.

Councillor Charles Quinn, portfolio holder for environment, said those particular streets had been "highlighted as areas that would benefit from our extra resources".

The council is also encouraging residents to get involved by helping with litter-picking and graffiti removal.

Mr Quinn said: “By getting involved with the tidy-up, residents can help make a visible difference, connect with neighbours, and make an impactful change in the place they live.”

Areas across Hull that have already benefited from the project include Kingswood, Ings and the Avenues.

The project was launched in 2023 as part of a pilot and visited more than 260 streets, before being expanded the following March.

The council will announce the next area to benefit from the scheme at the end of November.
