Santa Bus visits Hull boy being treated for cancer

With just a few days to go until the big day, Father Christmas found time in his busy schedule to pay a visit to nine-year-old Isaac, who is undergoing a second round of chemotherapy due to a relapsed brain tumour.

The visit, to Isaac and his classmates at Cavendish Primary School in Hull, was part of BBC Radio Humberside's Santa Bus tour, which has been visiting schools in East Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire.

Isaac said: "It was really cool, and I loved that all my friends could see it with me".

Isaac's mum Jess described the experience as "very emotional" and said it was great to see Isaac meet Father Christmas, surrounded by all of his friends.

Isaac was first diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2022.

Treatment was successful and he spent a year in remission.

However, in March 2024 the family found out the cancer had returned.

A visit from the Santa Bus was part of the family's efforts for Isaac to have as many experiences as possible this year.

The family have also been to Legoland, Disneyland Paris, and the National History Museum where they had a sleepover.

Jess said it was about making memories for Isaac, his dad Steve, and herself.

"Even little things like cuddles, and saying 'I love you' - it's so important," she said.

Joanne Mulligan from Cavendish Primary School said the visit was "magical"

Joanne Mulligan from Cavendish Primary School described Isaac as "such a lovely boy" and said the experience had been "magical" for him and his friends.

"He's absolutely loved it. It's just been amazing. Some special memories have been made today."
