Man arrested after pointing gun at child during burglary

A man in his 30s has been arrested following an aggravated burglary during which a gun was pointed at a child in Ahoghill, County Antrim.
Police said they received a report at about 19:45 GMT on Monday that a man with his face covered had smashed the glass of a property in Laurel Park.
The man then pointed the gun at a man and a child who were in the house at the time.
The occupants escaped and the man was then arrested.
He was arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including aggravated burglary and stealing, carrying a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence, possession of a Class B and a Class C controlled drug.
The man remains in police custody as the investigation continues.
