Guernsey flu cases 'average for the time of year'
Guernsey's hospital has so far not been affected by a rise in flu cases seen in Jersey and the UK, the States has said.
Staff caring for patients in Jersey's hospital are wearing medical face masks and several hospitals in the UK have declared critical incidents due to increasing respiratory illnesses.
Guernsey health officials said there are currently 11 people at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital with respiratory related illnesses.
Public Health Intelligence said: "We are seeing the usual seasonal surge of influenza. Consultations for influenza like illnesses are higher than 2023, but in line with the average for the time of year."
