Driver brakes 'just in time' when tree falls on car
A driver manged to brake "just in time" and escaped uninjured when a large tree limb fell on to their moving car.
Oxfordshire Fire & Rescue Service said a crew was called just after 16:50 BST on Tuesday to the road outside the Sue Ryder Home for Palliative Care, Joyce Grove, in Nettlebed, Henley on Thames.
The road was briefly closed while firefighters used a winch to remove the tree.
A fire service spokesperson said: "Thankfully, the driver was fully alert and managed to brake just in time, resulting in only damage to the vehicle."
"We’re relieved that no one was injured," they said.
"This serves as an important reminder to always pay close attention to your surroundings and minimise distractions while driving."
The crew, from Henley Fire Station, made the car safe by removing its battery before moving the tree to one side of the road.
