York Minster will be illuminated by projections inspired by the city's wildlife and heritage.
The Colour and Light event will see the south transept lit up by images including peregrine falcons, sly foxes and even dragons.
The display aims to bring to life stories of horses from Roman times, York's modern-day urban wildlife and lesser-known animal tales.
The free event, organised by York's Business Improvement District (BID) runs on a 10-minute loop each evening between 18:00 GMT and 21:00 GMT from February 12 until 2 March.
