Special access to see festive lights in Guernsey
Special access has been given to pensioners and those with limited mobility to view the Christmas lights in a Guernsey town.
The States of Guernsey said its traffic and highways services have given people access to drive through St Peter Port at "set times" in December.
Those of a pensionable age, or those with passengers of a pensionable age, can drive through Smith Street, High Street, Le Pollet, Mill Street and Mansell Street.
The government also said those who drive and hold a valid disability badge, or carries a passenger who holds a badge could do the same.
'Speed limit'
It said the access applied on Sunday, Monday, Tuesday evenings between 18:00 GMT and 22:00 GMT.
It begins on 1 December until 1 January 2025 except Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
The States said: "While drivers are permitted to travel in either direction along Smith Street, they must only travel in the direction of the Town Church when driving along Le Pollet or the High Street.
"They also must only travel down Mill and Mansell Street. All of the roads listed are subject to a 12mph (19km/h) speed limit. There is no need to obtain a permit for this."
