A 22-year-old man who died in a collision in a Derbyshire village has been named by police.

Benn Johnson, from Sunny Hill in Derby, was the passenger of a red Vauxhall Corsa which was involved in a crash with a red Range Rover in Littleover on 10 June, shortly before 22:00 BST.

He was treated by paramedics at the scene, in Pastures Hill, but died on the way to hospital, police said.

In a statement on Wednesday, they said: “Benn was our beautiful son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, and friend. We are all missing him terribly.

“He was loved so much for his sense of fun and energy.

“He was loving and kind and quite simply perfect to us.

“We would like to thank everyone for their kind messages and support at this very difficult time.”

A 19-year-old man, who police said was driving the Corsa at the time of the crash, was taken to hospital with serious injuries while another passenger, aged 18, was treated in hospital and discharged shortly after.
