Air show to evoke spirit of wartime Bomber Command
The line-up for the 2024 East Kirkby Air Show has been confirmed.
The event, held at Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre, takes place from 10:00 to 18:00 BST on Saturday 3 August.
The show, which helps to raise money for the on-going restoration of Avro Lancaster NX611, will feature an appearance from the plane and many more.
Organisers have describe the event as a "step back in time to a World War Two Bomber Command airfield", and describe the show as a "living and breathing history experience".
Organisers said the displays in the air, with about four hours of action, will include the B17 Flying Fortress and the Bristol Blenheim, while on the ground will be the Mosquito HJ711 and the North American B25.
As well as the displays, there will also be re-enactments, Lancaster taxy runs, trade stalls, vintage cars and military vehicles.
The Avro Lancaster Bomber is one of the most famous planes of the Second World War, and the museum's NX611 - also known as Just Jane - is one of only three working Lancasters in the world.
The aircraft is currently in taxying condition, but is being restored to airworthy condition by the museum.
