Man arrested after crash killed two women and boy
A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a crash that killed two women and a six-year-old boy.
The crash happened on the A44 Spetchley Road in Worcester on 22 February.
The arrested 33-year-old was also detained on suspicion of causing death while uninsured, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and aggravated vehicle taking.
The women and boy were in a white Ford Mondeo which was involved in a collision with a grey BMW 3 series.
The adult pair - the 26-year-old driver and 39-year-old passenger - were pronounced dead at the scene.
The six-year-old, who was named as Leo Painter, was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital where he died shortly after arrival.
Two men travelling in the other vehicle were taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Ch Insp Mark Davidson, of West Mercia Police, said previously: “This is an incredibly sad incident, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of the people who have sadly died."
Leo's mother, Gemma Painter, said at the end of last month: "It has broken me that I will never see him again.
"They told me I needed to go to hospital to be with him, but unfortunately he was dead when I got there."
