In pictures: Loch Ness Monster hunters in the 1970s
A new documentary explores efforts made in the 1970s to find the Loch Ness Monster.
The 90-minute film, Loch Ness: They Created a Monster, has been made by three-time Scottish Bafta-winner John MacLaverty.
It will be shown in UK cinemas from Friday, and includes archive footage and images.
During the 1970s, different groups of people sought to explain Nessie sightings.
Earlier this year, the biggest attempt in more than 50 years was made to solve the mystery.
About 200 volunteers kept a lookout for strange events from the shoreline, but spotted nothing unusual.
Observers on a boat using acoustic equipment reported four unidentified "gloops" but then realised their recording device was not plugged in.
