Fire crews dealt with a fire overnight in a boiler room at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro.

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service said it was alerted at about 23:40 GMT on Thursday night following an automatic alarm and reports of smoke.

Four appliances from Truro, Tolvaddon and Perranporth attended the scene and used a CO2 extinguisher to bring the fire, described as "small", under control.

The service said the building was not part of the main hospital and there was no impact on patient care.
