Blackmail arrest in Bradford murder inquiry

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of blackmail by officers investigating the fatal stabbing of a man in Bradford.

Mohammed Junaid Khan, 19, died after being injured in a knife fight involving a number of men in Loughrigg Street, in the West Bowling area of the city, on Friday.

The latest arrest brings the number of people detained in connection with his death to nine.

West Yorkshire Police said the 17-year-old and an 18-year-old, who was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday, remained in custody.

Two other men, aged 27 and 24, were also stabbed during the fighting, police said.

The force said a 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder, two men, aged 27 and 24, who were arrested on suspicion of affray and a 53-year-old man arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender have all been released under investigation.

Meanwhile, a 24-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder has been as bailed pending further enquiries as have two men aged 26 and 27, who were held on suspicion of affray.
