Halloween pumpkins donated to animal sanctuary

About 100 pumpkins were donated to the sanctuary

About 100 Halloween pumpkins have been donated as food to an animal sanctuary in East Sussex.

Nicola Neal from Buxted delivered the pumpkins to Freedom Farm Sanctuary in Brightling after collecting them from more than 65 homes in the area.

She has been donating the pumpkins to her friend Lynda Free, who cares for the animals at the sanctuary, every year since 2020.

Ms Free said: "It's really appreciated because obviously it costs me a lot to feed all six animals and it's all self-funded."

Ms Neal said she had to turn down pumpkins this year as her Honda CR-V was full.

The pumpkins are used to feed pigs, as Ms Free says the goats are not fans of the spooky snack.
