A man and a woman have been killed in a single-vehicle crash after their Mercedes veered off the road in Fife.

Police Scotland said the white AMG C43 crashed on the Kelty to Saline road, near Blairadam, at about 20:50 on Sunday.

Emergency services attended but the two were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said two fire engines were dispatched to the incident.

Kenny Barbour, SFRS Senior Officer for Clackmannanshire, Fife and Stirling said: “Our crews worked closely with other emergency service partners to make the scene safe.

“Sadly, two occupants of the vehicle involved have passed away and our thoughts are with their families and friends at this difficult time.”

Police Scotland said the B914 road remained closed for crash investigation work and inquiries were ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Insp James Henry of Fife road policing said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man and woman who died.

"An investigation is under way and we are appealing for information that could assist our inquiries."
