Murder arrest after woman found dead

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 40s was discovered dead.

Officers were called to Swan Crescent in Oldbury at about 08:15 BST, West Midlands Police said.

It said she had suffered serious injuries and was confirmed dead at the scene.

A 50-year-old man, who the force said is understood to be known to the woman, was arrested and was due to be questioned by investigators.

A cordon was put in place while the police carried out inquiries in the area.
