Rescue teams said they were doing "everything they can" to find a man who fell into a reservoir while paddleboarding as their search continued for a third day.

An operation to locate the missing man has been under way since Sunday after a couple went missing at Dovestone Reservoir near Oldham - and a woman was later pulled safely from the water.

The search was paused late last night amid "very difficult" conditions, a Greater Manchester Police spokesman said.

Efforts resumed earlier while a large cordon remained in place around the reservoir at the edge of the Peak District.

Specially trained officers have been involved in the search alongside underwater drones, helicopters and fire engines.

A police spokesman said staff were "continuing to support the family" of the missing man.
