Council clears 15 tonnes of litter from busy road

More than 15 tonnes (15,000kg) of litter have been collected from a busy road during a joint council clean-up initiative.
Dorset Council said its highways crew worked with Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council along the A338 Spur Road, between the Ashley Heath and Cooper Dean roundabouts.
The local authority said the enormous amount of rubbish had been dumped "in just a few months since our last clean-up in mid-November".
It said the "inconsiderate" dumping of rubbish was "not only an eyesore" but also "a disaster for wildlife and the environment".
Dorset Council encouraged people to report litter on the highway, litter thrown from vehicles and fly tipping using its website.
