Organisers of an annual literary festival have said there are just a few tickets left.

The majority of the tickets for the Alderney Literary Festival sold out within 24 hours of being released, the Alderney Literary Trust said.

There were just a few places for individual author talks remaining, they added.

The ninth annual festival is due to take place at the Island Hall in Connaught Square between 28-30 March.

'Strength to strength'

Martin Belcher, chairman of event sponsor Polygon Collective, said: "The festival has gone from strength to strength over the years and is a huge testament to the dedication, hard work and meticulous planning that takes place behind the scenes which we are proud to be supporting."

The trust said this year's festival had seen double the number of book clubs become involved, with six clubs offering free meet the author sessions.

Authors scheduled to speak at the festival include Anna Abney, Ellen Apsten, Lesley Downer, Eleni Kyriacou, Simon Scarrow, Lavie Tidhar and Leo Vardiashvili.
